Ryan's Looney Tunes Cartoons Review

I started watching the new Looney Tunes Cartoons tonight. They are good but there was no way they could live up to the hype. It is still the best animation and funniest gags I have seen in a television or streaming format in a long time. Of course I have always favored Warner Bros. and its characters over any other from the golden age of animation. I am sure there have been some great 2D animations I haven't even seen but when it comes to the full package I still think Looney Tunes is the best. They are well-animated, funny and have wonderfully written stories. I actually laughed out loud a few times. I really couldn't ask for anything better in today's computer age. I think the only thing that really bothers me about it is its perfection. There are no screw ups, no messy lines and the static shots just don't have the same feel as the originals from the 30's, 40's and 50's. There also seems to be grosser jokes that don't have the "Looney Tunes feel". Some gags have more of a Ren & Stimpy vibe, which is fine when they are funny. There was a bit where Gossamer (the giant red monster) had disgusting feet and it made me laugh to see what Bugs did with his toes.

Overall, good stuff and I am enjoying it. Unfortunately, there are only ten episodes this season. For some stupid reason I was expecting to get all 80 in one package. That's how they get ya.
I give Looney Tunes Cartoons 4 out of 5 carrots.

Give it a looksie if you enjoy animation. I posted an image from my favorite animated short so far.
